Annual Dinner Concert and Cake Auction

The Annual Dinner Concert and Cake Auction took place on Thursday, October 27, 2011.  Bnd students prepared and served a meal of spaghetti with meat sauce or vegetarian suaces, garlic bread, and salad with musical entertainment by the stage band during dinner and a performance by the full concert band following the meal.

For dessert, students created an array of wonderful cakes to be auctioned, ranging from the simple, yet satisfying, to the elaborately decorated sort that drew oooh's and aaah's from the crowd.  

Summer Music

A number of Woodroffe students and alumni may be seen in performance this summer at Andrew Hayden Park, playing with the Nepean Concert Band under the direction of Woodroffe teacher, Terry Duncan.

Concerts will take place at 7:30 pm on July 20 and August 3.

 

Good job at Musicfest Regionals, Band Members!

Our combined Junior and Senior Bands are to be congratualted for their performance in Musicfest Canada (Capital Region) at Earl of March Secondary School at 8 pm on Saturday, February 26.  The Band was adjudicated on 3 pieces:  Gustav Holst's First Suite in Eb Major, Brian Nowlan's Synergy Rising, and Spirit Dance by George Farmer.

Hello Dolly!

Woodroffe High School will be showing yet another theatric production that will be ready to overwhelm the audience with their finesse. "Hello, Dolly!",  based on Thornton Wilder's "The Matchmaker", is one of Broadway's most beloved and entertaining musical comedies.
