College Admission is Competitive: Approximately 60% of college applicants are adults planning to upgrade, redirect or further their skills. Younger students make up about 40% of applicants and enter college directly after high school. The proof is in the numbers…89% of college graduates are employed within six months of graduation.

Types of Program Delivery: Post-secondary programs are the most common type of program offers by the colleges and require a high school diploma for admission. Usually the college assumes that students have no prior knowledge or experience in the field. Some programs have additional admission requirements.

Applied Degree programs offer the best of both worlds – the practical, technical strengths of a college education and the theoretical foundations of a bachelor’s degree. Joint college/university programs, co-op, and apprenticeships are offered in some disciplines.
